ISIS Activity Monitoring in Syria 15–21 June 2026

Syria Monitor Strategic Research Center documented 10 ISIS-related incidents across Syria during the reporting period.

The most significant event of the week was the suicide attack targeting the Internal Security Headquarters in Raqqa, which resulted in the deaths of two security personnel and injuries to six others. The attack represented one of the most serious security incidents recorded in Syria during the week.

The reporting period also witnessed a series of assassinations and targeted attacks in Damascus, Aleppo, and Deir ez-Zor, in addition to several IED and bombing incidents targeting vehicles and individuals in Damascus, Suwayda, and the Aleppo countryside.

At the same time, agricultural fires continued to affect rural areas in Hama and Deir ez-Zor, reflecting the continued use of economic disruption tactics alongside direct security operations.

The geographic distribution of incidents across Raqqa, Damascus, Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor, Hama, and Suwayda demonstrates the group’s ability to maintain operational activity in multiple regions despite ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
